The coal mining techniques that are commonly used underground in coal mines.
The blasting mining technique uses blasting to extract coal mines. In practical applications, the selection of blast holes is crucial. If the design is improper, the blasting effect will be affected. In mild cases, there may be blasting deviations, impacting the extraction volume; in severe cases, it can cause loss of life and property. A large amount of dust is generated after blasting, and the mining area must be processed after the blast.
First, the blasting must ensure precise coal fragmentation to avoid damage to the roof, supports, and other equipment. The working face must also be kept level to prevent collapse and local structural changes after blasting, which could lead to collapses in the space. The use of explosives must be appropriate; more is not always better. In some precision blasting areas, the selection of blast points must be accurate, and the amount of explosives must be strictly controlled. Workers must prepare in advance, have a preliminary understanding of the coal seam conditions, and understand factors such as the thickness and hardness of the coal seam and the load-bearing capacity of the roof. Then, the drilling of blast holes must be precise, as the blast hole is the core of the blasting mining technique and the point of explosive placement. If there are issues with the blast point's position, the entire blasting situation will be affected.
Second, in the coal loading operation, after blasting, all coal cannot be thrown onto the conveyor; the remaining coal loading must be completed manually. Next is the support of the working face and the treatment of the goaf. Metal friction pillars and single hydraulic pillars are commonly used for coal support in the well. Clearing the goaf reduces the area of roof leakage and ensures the safety of coal collection. The caving method can be attempted.
